The UAE National Olympic Committee has unveiled its official delegation for the 2024 Paris Olympics, featuring 14 athletes competing in various sports.

Equestrian rider Omar Al Marzouqi, who claimed a silver medal in individual showjumping at the 2018 Youth Olympics, will proudly carry the UAE flag during the Opening Ceremony.

He is joined by fellow equestrians Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi, Abdullah Al Marri, Salem Al Suwaidi, and Ali Al Karbi.

The judo team includes Omar Marouf (over 100kg), Dhafer Aram (under 100kg), Aram Gregorian (under 90kg), Talal Shvili (under 81kg), and Narmand Bayan (under 66kg).

Bashirat Kharoudi (under 52 kg) will represent the women’s division. Safiya Al Sayegh is set to make history as the first Emirati female cyclist to compete at the Summer Olympics, marking a significant milestone for UAE sports.

Yousuf Al Matrooshi will make his second Olympic appearance in swimming, while Maha Al Shehi will join him in the women’s category. Runner Maryam Mohammed Al Farsi is slated to compete in the 100m event.

The UAE’s Olympic journey began at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

Notably, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher Al Maktoum won the nation’s first gold medal in double trap shooting at the 2004 Athens Olympics, followed by judoka Sergio Toma’s bronze at the 2016 Rio Games.
