China clinch first Asian U18 Volleyball Championship title

China clinched its first Asian U18 Volleyball Championship title yesterday, overcoming Iran in a thrilling final match held at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Hall Complex in Bahrain.

The Chinese team secured a 3-2 victory with set scores of 23- 25, 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, and 15-10, showcasing their resilience and strategic prowess.

The championship, hosted by Bahrain under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, concluded with China earning the gold medals and championship cup.

The closing ceremony featured distinguished guests, including Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, and Firas Jawad Al-Halwaji, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the tournament, who presented the awards.

The match was officiated by international referee Ahmed Abdel-Aal, and China’s victory was celebrated on the court.

The tournament’s first coronation ceremony included the presentation of a commemorative shield from the Asian Volleyball Confederation by Kazakh Arbitration Committee Chairman Yermek Sirlibayev to Firas Al-Halwaji.

The ceremony also honored key tournament contributors, such as Iranian Volleyball Federation President Milad Taqwa, Vice President of the Jordanian Federation Jihad Qatashiyat, and Vice President of the Lebanese Federation Ali Haider Khalifa, among others.
