HH Shaikh Khalid praises FIFA’s role in developing game globally

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) praised the role of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in the development of football globally.

This came as His Highness attended the reception held by FIFA on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, received HH Shaikh Khalid and commended the Kingdom’s role in supporting and developing global sports. HH Shaikh Khalid was accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of GSA; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Vice President of BOC; and Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of BOC.

HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised the importance of this meeting to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom and FIFA. HH highlighted that FIFA’s participation in major sporting events such as the Olympics represents the association’s commitment to supporting and developing football globally. HH Shaikh Khalid underscored Bahrain’s keenness on supporting international efforts aimed at enhancing sports and developing football.
