Earlier this week, the Bahrain Junior National Tennis Team embarked on their journey to the Tunisian capital, Tunis, to participate in the Arab Tennis Championship, taking place from August 16 to 26.

The delegation is led by Fouad Al-Ruwaihi, the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, accompanied by the federation’s Technical Director, Mahmoud Saeed, and fitness coach, Bassam Khairy.

The team consists of six promising young players in the Under-14 and Under-12 categories: Ahmed Mohammed Abdulrahman, Talal Mohammed Al-Sayed, Hashim Abdulhussein Al-Tubli, Abdullah Mohammed Al-Dosari, Issa Zahir Abbas, and Abdullah Shaheen Khalfan.

The delegation also includes female player Mariam Al-Abbasi and coach Salima Al-Banna. Al-Ruwaihi expressed that this participation is part of the Bahrain Tennis Federation’s strategic efforts to develop the sport and represent Bahrain on the Arab and international stages.

He hopes that the competition will help elevate the skill levels of the young players and enhance their experience through exposure to various playing styles.

The federation aims for this event to exhibit the progress of Bahraini tennis and contribute to the players’ growth and development.

Al-Ruwaihi emphasized that the players will strive to present themselves honorably and achieve positive results in this regional tournament, which will bolster Bahrain’s standing in Arab tennis.

He is optimistic that this experience will motivate the players to continue their development and improve their technical skills.

The federation has prepared the team with appropriate training conditions, including participation in the “Ten Pro” International Championship in Budapest and training camps in Serbia and Turkey over the past two months, aimed at enhancing both their technical and physical capabilities.
