The scorching heat of the AlUla Desert Blaze Marathon 2024 didn’t deter Team KHK athletes Yusuf Nasser and Wafa Zooral, who claimed first place in the men’s and women’s 10-kilometer races, respectively.

Held from August 23-24 in the rugged terrains of AlUla, Saudi Arabia, the race is known for its extreme conditions, with temperatures reaching the mid-forties during the day.

Yusuf Nasser’s victory in the men’s category and Wafa Zooral’s win in the women’s category were both remarkable achievements considering the challenging environment.

The race began at the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra, guiding runners through some of the region’s most stunning and harsh landscapes.

The AlUla Marathon, though only in its second year, has quickly become a premier event, attracting athletes from around the world eager to test their endurance in one of the most demanding races on the calendar.

The 2024 edition expanded to include various race lengths, catering to both professional athletes and casual runners.

The marathon not only tests physical limits but also displays the natural beauty and historical significance of AlUla, further cementing its reputation as a leading destination for adventure sports.

Both Yusuf and Wafa’s victories highlight the dominance of Team KHK in endurance sports, particularly in such grueling environments.

Their performances are a testament to their resilience, strategy, and preparation, securing their top spots and significant recognition in the growing AlUla Desert Blaze event.

The AlUla Marathon is a part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push to promote sports and tourism, with the Kingdom positioning itself as a hub for international sporting events.
