After their win over Qatar in their last match, Bahrain seemed poised for more success in the Gulf Men’s Basketball Championship 2nd Round. Meanwhile, Kuwait, coming off a loss to Saudi Arabia, was determined to bounce back. The stage was set for an intense matchup, and it did not disappoint. The game was tightly contested from the start.

Both teams matched each other point for point in the first quarter, ending 21-21. Bahrain pulled slightly ahead in the second quarter, bringing the halftime score in Bahrain’s favor.

Cruise Control Slips Away

Bahrain appeared to be in cruise control with just 10 seconds left on the clock, but a missed free throw and opened the door for Kuwait.

Capitalizing on the opportunity, Kuwait scored both of their free throws and snatched a 87-86 win at the death, leaving the Bahrainis in stunned silence.

Tale of the Tape

Mustafa Husain Ali was the standout performer for Bahrain, scoring a game-high 30 points and adding 5 assists to his impressive tally.

His exceptional shooting and playmaking were pivotal in keeping Bahrain in the game, but despite his heroics, the team fell short in the final moments.

Bahrain’s loss comes despite their earlier impressive performance, but Kuwait’s clutch play in the final moments secured their win.

Bahrain will now have to regroup quickly as they prepare for their upcoming match against Saudi Arabia tonight at 7:30.
