A Unique Blend of Sport and Charity

Tony Davis, the Technical Development Manager and National Coach, spoke about the event's significance during a press conference at the Crowne Plaza. He shared how the Royal Rumble III aims to inspire athletes while contributing to charitable causes. “In this room, we have some of our boxers here in the Royal Guard uniform”, Davis said, showing a video of His Majesty sparring at home, which he believes is an instant inspiration for the athletes. The event, named in honor of His Highness and the Royal Guard, brings boxing enthusiasts together and serves as a key fundraiser for local charities.

A Prestigious Evening for a Noble Cause

The Royal Rumble offers a platform for people to come dressed to impress, enjoy fine dining, and witness exciting boxing matches—all while supporting charity. With previous editions proving to be a success, the third iteration is set to be bigger and better. “They put in the training and sacrifice. These opponents aren’t coming here for a holiday; they’re coming to win”, Davis emphasized, setting the stage for the high level of competition expected at this year's event.

A Collaborative Effort for Boxing and Community

Crowne Plaza General Manager, Charbel Hanna, expressed his pride in hosting the event: “It’s a unique experience, blending high-energy boxing with an elegant, dress-to-impress evening. This event gives back to the community, with all funds raised going to charity.” Hosting the event in the newly renovated ballroom will enhance the experience for attendees, adding to the prestige of the occasion.

Growing Boxing in Bahrain

For local athletes, the Royal Rumble is more than just an event; it’s a key part of the development of boxing in Bahrain. Rashed Mehrinfar, an athlete with the Bahrain Boxing Federation, reflected on his participation: “Being part of the Royal Rumble has been incredible. It’s played a major role in the growth of boxing here.”

Tony Davis, speaking exclusively to The Daily Tribune, echoed this sentiment: “It’s all about the development of our boxers and forging international ties. This time, we’re facing the British Army’s Royal Engineers, which will be our toughest test yet.”

Encouraging the Next Generation

Speaking to Hussain Almaskati of TDT, Ali AlAradi, a prominent figure in Bahraini boxing, sees the event as a great opportunity for up-and-coming boxers. “This event is an excellent preparation for bigger things. The more effort they put in, the more they will grow and develop as athletes.”

With the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid and the efforts of the entire boxing community, Royal Rumble III is set to be a night to remember—not just for the exciting bouts but for its positive impact on both the sport and the community.
