Alaa Mudara confirmed as Bahrain Basketball Federation President

This Sunday marks a significant event in Bahrain’s sports scene, with the elections for the Bahrain Basketball Federation scheduled to take place. Under the supervision of the General Sports Authority, the evening will see the confirmation of Alaa Mudara as the Federation’s President, as no other candidates have come forward to contest the position.

A total of nine candidates are vying for seats on the Federation’s Board of Directors. With the board comprising eight members alongside the President, a competitive election is expected, as no withdrawals have been reported ahead of the highly anticipated General Assembly. Alaa Mudara will become the seventh president of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, bringing with him a wealth of experience.

In the 1980s, he served on the Federation’s Board of Directors under the presidency of His Highness Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Before his administrative role, Mudara was an accomplished player for both Al-Ahli and Al-Firdous clubs and proudly represented Bahrain in several regional and international basketball championships. Mudara’s return to leadership promises to be a pivotal moment for Bahrain basketball, as he takes the helm once again.
