Paul Pogba has expressed a strong desire to return to Juventus following the reduction of his doping ban, even if it means accepting a pay cut. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, the French World Cup winner stated, "I’m willing to give up money to be able to play again with Juve. I want to come back with this club."
Pogba, who is currently under suspension, emphasized his commitment to Juventus: "The reality is that I am a Juve player, and I am preparing to play for Juve." His contract with the Italian giants runs until June 2026, with a value of eight million euros ($8.68 million) per year. However, during his suspension, Pogba is only receiving the minimum salary stipulated in the Serie A collective agreement, which is just over €2,000 a month.
Despite the reduction of his ban, reports from the Italian press suggest that Juventus may still be looking to terminate Pogba's contract. "It will be a new Pogba, a hungrier, wiser, and stronger one. I just want to play football," he added, highlighting his readiness to train and compete once again.
Pogba’s four-year ban for doping was recently shortened to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), allowing him to return to action on March 11, 2025—just four days before his 32nd birthday. He tested positive for testosterone, prompting the suspension, but remains focused on his future with Juventus. "I’m a Juve player, in my mind, that’s all there is at the moment," Pogba concluded.
