The Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq was buzzing with excitement as young athletes from Bahrain, the Gulf, and beyond gathered for The Triathlete Factory ’s Kids Triathlon Championship yesterday.
Supported by the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Bahrain Triathlon Association, the event brought together over 150 children aged 6 to 15, showing their remarkable athletic talents in swimming, cycling, and running. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere was vibrant and filled with energy.
The event kicked off at 3 PM with lively music that kept the spirits high, as announcers hyped up both the triathletes and the enthusiastic families cheering from the sidelines.
Participants came not only from Bahrain but also from neighbouring Gulf countries and international families living in Bahrain, making the event a truly diverse and festive occasion. Divided into five age groups, each competitor gave their all across the three challenging legs of the event.
The youngest group, 6 to 7-year-olds, impressed the crowd with their determination as they completed a 25-meter swim, an 800-meter cycle, and a 300-meter run. In the 14 to 15-year-old category, older triathletes took on a more demanding 300-meter swim, 4-kilometer cycle, and 2-kilometer run, pushing their limits under the cheering crowd’s watchful eyes.
As the first leg of the TTF Kids Triathlon Series, this event set the stage for what’s to come. The series will continue with races in Qatar on November 15 and Saudi Arabia on December 7.
