HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Praises Preparations for Bahrain 2024 International School Sports Games

Major Event Set to Host Over 5,000 Students from 70+ Nations

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, welcomed Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the International School Sports Games (Bahrain 2024), along with the committee members.

Sheikh Khalid expressed his warm regards to the committee members as they prepare for the prestigious event, which will be held from October 24 to 31 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The committee updated Shaikh Khalid on the latest preparations overseen by the Executive Committee, working closely with the Supreme Organizing Committee. These efforts are made in collaboration with the International School Sport Federation, as well as public, private, and non-governmental sectors.

His Highness praised the tremendous efforts made in a short period, highlighting the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Education, the General Sports Authority, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and the Bahrain School and University Sports Federation. He emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts as the countdown to the event begins, ensuring that Bahrain hosts the games in a manner befitting the Kingdom’s reputation under the patronage of His Majesty the King.

"The International School Sports Games (Bahrain 2024) is the largest sporting event our nation is hosting this year, with over 5,000 students from more than 70 countries participating”, Sheikh Khalid confirmed. “This imposes a responsibility on all of us to complete all preparations in a manner that reflects Bahrain’s stature." He further commended the dedication of the Supreme Organizing Committee and the Executive Committee, wishing them continued success in their efforts.”
