Bahrain to host first World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships

Bahrain will serve as the host nation for the inaugural First World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships - Bahrain 2024 and the Bahrain Para Taekwondo Open 2024. In an official signing, Mr. Ali Mohamed Almajed, Secretary General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee and Dr Chungwon Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to confirm these two global Para Taekwondo sporting events scheduled for November 26-27, 2024, and November 29, 2024, respectively.

This announcement coincides with the World Taekwondo Federation’s attendance at the largest International School Sports event in history, the International School Sports Games held in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and ongoing until October 31.

Commenting on the occasion, the Secretary General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee expressed his pride in Bahrain’s selection as the host for these global Para Taekwondo sporting events. Echoing these sentiments, Dr Chungwon Choue reaffirmed the Federation’s confidence in Bahrain’s ability to deliver a successful Bahrain Para Taekwondo Open 2024 and the first-ever First World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships - Bahrain 2024, marking a historic milestone for the sport.
