A New Era for Padel in Bahrain
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), inaugurated the first branch of the World Padel Academy (WPA) in Bahrain. The academy, a collaborative project developed by Kanoo Real Estate in partnership with the UAE’s Spadrec Investments and Bahrain’s Courtside Sports, is set to elevate the kingdom’s standing in the rapidly growing world of Padel.
Distinguished Attendees and Strategic Partnerships
The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures, including HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC); HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Football Association; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation and Honourary President of the Arab Padel Federation (APF); and Fahad bin Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain. The involvement of these regional sports leaders emphasizes the academy’s potential as a hub for Padel development in the Arab world.
State-of-the-Art Facilities to Boost Bahraini Sports
Located in Bahrain, this latest branch of the WPA adds to the academy’s established network across the UAE. Equipped with five state-of-the-art indoor courts, including a main court that meets international standards, the academy offers an unparalleled training environment. This facility caters to all skill levels, aiming to nurture talent and grow the sport within Bahrain, aligning with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision to strengthen Bahraini sports on the global stage.
A Home Base for the Victorious Padel Team
The new branch will serve as the official home for Bahrain’s Victorious Padel Team, providing a world-class training environment with top-tier coaching to develop athletes for regional and international competition. By offering access to expert coaching and advanced resources, the academy positions itself as a key player in Bahrain’s ambition to become a central hub for Padel in the region.
