Nasser bin Hamad cycling tour concludes on a high note

Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Nasser bin Hamad Tour for Amateur Cycling concluded successfully, marking the fourth edition with a notable increase in competitive spirit and participation.

The final day’s events took place in Sakhir, attended by key figures including Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority; Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Cycling Federation; Shaikh Ibrahim bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Deputy CEO of Bapco; Shaikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Khalifa of Bion; Saud Al Hamer from Al Salam Bank; Ahmed Al Haj, Director of the Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Tour; and representatives from Marassi Al Bahrain and Bin Hindi Motors.

Cyclist Mohammed Hassan Jawad from the Victorious team clinched first place in the fourth stage, with his teammate Mohammed Issa Al Ghais coming in second, and Aqeel Thamer from the Giant team securing third place.

In the open category for Bahrainis, Gulf nationals, and foreign residents in Bahrain, Emirati cyclist Majed Mohammed from the Dubai Police team took first place, Ibrahim Al Ali from the Isad team finished second, and Bahraini cyclist Hussein Mohammed from the Al Wathba team claimed third.

In the Bahraini jersey category for Tour Champions, the yellow jersey for best time was awarded to Mohammed Issa Al Ghaidh of the Victorious team, making him the Tour champion by time.

Mohammed Hassan Jawad, also from the Victorious team, claimed both the red jersey for the most points and the blue jersey for the under-23 category, while Aqeel Thamer from the Giant team retained the green jersey for the over-40 category.

For the open category including Gulf and foreign cyclists, the orange jersey for best time went to Hamad Al-Sabry of the Dubai Police team, the grey jersey for most points to Hilal Jaber from the ABH team, the purple jersey for the under-23 category to Mahdi Hassan Jawad from the Naseej team, and the pink jersey for the over-40 category to Saad Ali Al-Balushi of the ABH team.

In the People of Determination race, Bahraini cyclist Yousef Janahi won first place, with Musa Al Sayegh and Sayed Noor Al Wadaei in second and third. In the Gulf category, first place went to Omani cyclist Sami Al Sulaimi, second to Ayed Ali from the Emirates, and third to Saeed Rashid from the Emirates. Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Khalifa won first place in the blind category.

The women’s race covered 40 km, with cyclist Fatima AlTaie taking first in the general classification, followed by Saudi Arabia’s Abrar Saleh in second and Emirati cyclist Aisha Abdullah in third. In the Bahraini women’s division, Maryam Al-Khalasi led, with Fatima Hussein in second and Fatima Murad in third.

In the Gulf and foreign women’s category, Farah Al-Marri from the Emirates came first, with Emma Baker in second and Olga in third.

A special children’s festival was also held, featuring four categories and enthusiastic participation. To wrap up the tour, the Victorious team emerged as the leading Bahraini team, followed by the Al Khailan team in second and the Triple M team in third.

Among the Gulf teams, Dubai Police claimed first, ABH team took second, and Victorious team finished third in the open category and residents division.
