Bahrain secured a dominant 84-run win against Tanzania in today’s ICC Men's Qualifier B match, showcasing their superiority in both batting and bowling. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bahrain posted a challenging total of 237 in 49.5 overs. The star of the innings was middle-order batsman Ahmer Bin Nasir, who crafted a crucial 89 off 100 balls, hitting four boundaries and two sixes. His innings provided stability after early wickets fell, while Haider Butt chipped in with 40 off 76 balls. Quick contributions from Imran Anwar (19 off 12) helped boost Bahrain's total. Tanzania’s bowlers, led by Harsheed Chohan (4/51) and SanjayKumar Thakor (2/39), did well to restrict Bahrain, taking wickets at regular intervals.
Tanzania’s chase started poorly, with early wickets leaving them at 21/3. Amal Rajeevan (33 off 30) and Mukesh Maker (36 off 59) tried to rebuild, but Bahrain’s bowlers dismantled the Tanzanian batting lineup, reducing them to 153 all out in 35.3 overs. Ali Dawood (3/34) and Abdul Majid (2/26) were standout performers, while Imran Anwar (2/17) and Sachin Kumar (2/29) provided vital breakthroughs.
This victory propels Bahrain forward in the ICC Men’s Qualifier B tournament, while Tanzania will need to address their batting weaknesses before their next match.
