Dev Kanberguemat Secures Boys’ Singles Title
In an intense boys’ singles final, Romania’s Dev Kanberguemat emerged victorious, defeating top-seeded Turkish player Imran Bolut in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. The tournament, held from November 11-16, was hosted by the Bahrain Tennis Federation at Isa Town.
The final showcased high-caliber tennis, with both players delivering a closely matched performance. Despite Bolut's spirited comeback in the first set—recovering from 1-4 to level at 4-4—Kanberguemat maintained composure, sealing the set and eventually the match. The Romanian capitalized on his rival’s unforced errors while displaying precision and calm under pressure, especially during critical moments.
Fangyu Shang Retains Girls’ Singles Title
China’s Fangyu Shang defended her girls’ singles crown with a commanding performance against compatriot Chang Liu in the final. Shang dominated the first set 6-1, leveraging Liu’s struggles with a pre-existing injury. The second set saw Liu retire while trailing 4-1, handing Shang her second consecutive tournament victory after defeating Liu in last week’s final as well.
The win underscores Shang’s rising stature in junior tennis, marking her as a formidable contender on the international stage.
