Strong Starts in Khalid Bin Hamad Handball Championship for High Schools

The Khalid Bin Hamad Handball Championship for High Schools began thrillingly, with Hamad Town School making a statement in their opening match. Competing in Group A, they triumphed over Al-Hidaya Al-Khalifiya School in a tightly contested game, clinching a 31-29 victory and securing their first two points.
Hamad Town’s goalkeeper, Ahmed Abdullah, was instrumental in his team’s success, delivering a standout performance throughout the match. His heroics earned him the Player of the Match award, adding to the team’s celebrations.
In the same group, Isa Bin Ali School also secured a crucial win, defeating Jidhafs School 25-21. Isa Bin Ali’s standout player, Sayed Mahmood Basim, scored an impressive nine goals, earning him the Player of the Match award. He was honored by senior physical education specialist Mr. Mishal Turki during the post-match ceremony.
The tournament adopts a single-round league format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to a two-legged semifinal stage. The winners will then face off in a grand final to determine the champion.
Supported by wide-ranging private sector sponsorship, the championship enjoys platinum backing from the National Bank of Kuwait, alongside gold sponsors including Premier Motors, Bahrain Cinema Company (Cineco), GMI, and Royal Bahrain Hospital. Bronze sponsors such as Marwa Water, The Art Hotel, National Transport Company, and Libro Sports also contribute to the event’s success.
As the competition heats up, all eyes will be on the schools battling for glory in this prestigious tournament.
