Bahrain to host Asian Games, HH Shaikh Nasser praises progress

Bahrain is gearing up to host the Asian Youth Games, a major sporting event that will showcase the kingdom’s commitment to youth and sports development.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, expressed his pride in this achievement, highlighting the unwavering support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the council’s final meeting of 2024, HH Shaikh Nasser also congratulated the Ministry of Youth Affairs for winning the Arab Best Government Project Award for Youth Empowerment. Additionally, he commended the progress of the Global Hope Network, initiated by Bahrain, which aims to connect youth worldwide.
The council reviewed data on youth empowerment in both the public and private sectors, highlighting the increasing opportunities available for young Bahrainis. The Ministry of Health presented its strategies to promote a healthy lifestyle among youth, while the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” showcased programs designed to enhance youth employment.
Following a comprehensive review of the reports, HH Shaikh Nasser directed the formation of a working group to monitor the efforts of relevant institutions in improving educational and employment outcomes for young people.
