HH Shaikh Nasser attends closing ceremony of GCC Military Shooting Championship

General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the National Security Adviser and Commander of the Royal Guard, attended the final rounds and closing ceremony of the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Military Shooting Championship, hosted by the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) and organised by its Military Sports Union.

HH Shaikh Nasser was accompanied by His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Special Force Commander.

Upon their arrival, Their Highnesses were welcomed by Major General Ghanim Ibrahim Al Fadhala, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations of the BDF and Chairman of the Organising Committee; Brigadier General Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalahma, Director of the Military Sports Union; and the heads of the delegations from participating GCC states.

HH Shaikh Nasser presented the awards to the winners, including the overall championship trophy, which was awarded to the Bahrain team. HH also distributed prizes for the winners of the 200-metre Plate Shooting with Rifles competition, where the Bahrain team secured first place, the United Arab Emirates team took second, and Oman team placed third.

In the 20-metre Plate Shooting with Pistols competition, Oman secured first, followed by Bahrain and UAE.

In the 40-metre Plate Shooting with Submachine Guns competition, UAE claimed first, Bahrain second, and Saudi Arabia came third.

In the Warrior Competition for Officers, First Lieutenant Asaad Khalaf Al Kalbani from Oman won first, followed by UAE’s Major Ali Salem Al Ghafri and Bahrain’s Major Mohammed Ahmed Al Qahtan.

In the Warrior Competition for Individuals, Bahrain’s Sergeant Ahmed Zareef Hamoud claimed first, Bahrain’s Sergeant Bashar Ahmed Awad second, and Saudi’s First Sergeant Saeed Sagheer Al Zahrani third.
