3rd Bahrain National Day Chess Festival 2024 Celebrates Resounding Success

TDT I Manama

The 3rd Edition of the Bahrain National Day Chess Festival took place from December 14 to 17, 2024, at Al Oruba Club, Juffair, drawing over 250 participants from various age groups and skill levels. Organised by Arjun’s Chess Academy (ACA) and Al Oruba Club, with support from the Bahrain Chess Federation, the event marked another milestone in Bahrain’s growing chess community. Players competed across four engaging formats: Junior Rapid (Under-16), Children's Rapid (Under-10), FIDE Blitz, and FIDE Rapid, showcasing their strategic acumen and love for the game.

The festival featured a prize pool of BD 1,001, with winners receiving trophies and medals to honour their achievements. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Lohidas Palaserry, COO of Almoayyed Contracting Group; Mr. Subin, CEO of Design Track; Mr. Pradeep Puravankara, Executive Editor of News of Bahrain; Dr. Bassem Karim, Al Oruba Club Representative; and Mr. Arjun Kakkadath, Tournament Director.
