BIC set for busy weekend with Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night and Batelco Fitness on Track

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, is all set for a busy weekend on the drag strip and along the track.

First taking place today under lights is the Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night, offering head-to-head battles in a unique format.

Then, early tomorrow morning, the intensity level goes down a notch but the excitement remains high with Batelco Fitness on Track, BIC’s fan-favourite exercise activity that can be enjoyed either on foot or on a bicycle.

Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night is scheduled for 7pm to 12midnight on Thursday. Motorsport enthusiasts can invite their family or friends and bring their very own cars or motorbikes for an exciting one-on-one challenge down BIC’s National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag strip.

But instead of a traditional standing start, participants will begin their run down the quarter-mile at a rolling speed of 80kph.

Thursday’s activity offers an early start to the weekend’s programme in Sakhir. The cost to participate is BD22 for each driver or rider. Spectators can watch from the stands for a fee of BD2.

Just as in all happenings at BIC, safety is paramount for all taking part. Cars and motorbikes must thus go through scrutineering before being able to hit the strip.

Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night is the perfect opportunity for an engaging, yet friendly, duel. Both participants will be able to push their vehicles to their very limit within the secure and controlled environment at BIC.

In addition to the Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night, also available on Thursday is BIC’s most mind-boggling passenger ride: the Dragster Experience.

Known as ‘The Fastest Ride on Earth’, fans will have a chance to get a taste of pure speed as they are taken from zero to 100kph in just one second while in the cockpit of a 10,500cc Top Dragster.

The Dragster Experience is available at BD44 for the first passenger while a second passenger can get 50 per cent off.

On Friday, BIC hosts Batelco Fitness on Track from 6am to 10am. This popular activity offers members of the public the chance to break a sweat on foot or on a bicycle within the world-class setting of a Formula 1 host venue. It can be done either individually or with a group of friends and family.

Runners and walkers will be utilising BIC’s 2.550-kilometre Inner Circuit, while cyclists will get to ride their bikes along the 3.543-kilometre Outer Circuit, with another dedicated area for children’s cycling.

The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Payment must be made upon booking. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult. BIC’s Batelco Fitness on Track Season Pass is also still available. This is ideal for regular participants as it grants access to all Batelco Fitness on Track events throughout the season, at the affordable price of just BD15. The pass is thus a great way to save money over the course of the year, with Batelco Fitness on Track being held multiple times each month, all the way through to April of 2025.
