Bahrain’s national cycling team is participating in the 13th Arab Track Cycling Championship, hosted by Egypt and organized by the Egyptian Cycling Federation. The event takes place at Cairo International Velodrome in the Egyptian capital from December 25 to 28.

The championship, anticipated to be of high administrative and technical standards, has attracted strong participation from eight leading Arab nations, including the UAE, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and host Egypt.

Representing Bahrain are two promising young cyclists, Mohammed Thamer and Mahdi Hassan, under the guidance of coach Axel Costa and supported by team technician Issa Ayoub.

The event has drawn 150 cyclists across various age categories, competing in 44 races. Reports suggest the championship will feature intense competition and excitement, further elevated by the presence of top administrators and technicians in the cycling world.

Notably, the Arab Cycling Federation has registered this championship in the Union Cycliste Internationale’s (UCI) calendar, with the global cycling body appointing an international referee to oversee the competition.
