BRAVE CF Awards: Mokaev leads Submission nods

BRAVE Combat Federation, the world’s most global MMA organization, announces the nominees for the 2024 Submission of the Year award, with Mojtaba Nasiri, Muhammad Mokaev, Rauan Bekbolat, and Izzeddine Al Derbani in contention for the prestigious honor.

Leading the list is the best undefeated Flyweight in the world, Muhammad Mokaev. Mokaev made his highly anticipated return to BRAVE Combat Federation at BRAVE CF 91 in Bahrain, where he secured a first-round submission victory over the Philippines’ Joevincent So via a Brabo choke.

Mojtaba Nasiri earned his nomination for a historic submission win at BRAVE CF 85 in Pakistan. Nasiri executed the first-ever Von Flue choke in BRAVE CF history against Yuki Angdembe, cementing his place in the list of nominees.

Kazakhstan’s Rauan Bekbolat is also in the running after delivering one of the year’s biggest upsets at BRAVE CF 85 in Pakistan. Bekbolat submitted Ukraine’s Omar Solomanov with a guillotine choke, snapping Omar’s eight-year undefeated streak in dramatic fashion.

Rounding off the nominations is Arab MMA icon Izzeddine Al Derbani. Derbani submitted Chinese MMA veteran Keremuaili Maimaitituoheti at BRAVE CF 84 in China with a triangle choke, securing his spot among the year’s best submissions.

BRAVE Combat Federation will unveil nominations for Breakout Fighter of the Year, Fight of the Year, and Fighter of the Year in the coming days as part of its End-of-Year Awards.
