In a gripping quarter finale encounter at the Khalid Bin Hamad Cricket League (Division A - Season 2024), National Guards triumphed over BCF Rising Stars (Crown Industries) by 6 wickets, securing a hard-fought victory in their T20 clash.
BCF Rising Stars were put to bat first after winning the toss. Despite solid starts from Nouman Yousaf (17) and Muhammad Saddam (13), they struggled to build partnerships. Key wickets fell at regular intervals, with Imran Aslam (19) and Hamza Noor Zada (25) adding some resistance. However, the team was bowled out for a modest total of 109 runs in 19.4 overs.
Muhammad Asif Iqbal (3/11) and Ahmed Hassan (2/14) were the standout bowlers for National Guards, restricting the opposition's progress.
In reply, National Guards chased down the target with ease, finishing at 110/4 in 11.3 overs. Safdar Abbas Ghulam (36) and Asif Javed Bashir (28) laid the foundation with blistering knocks. Although BCF Rising Stars picked up a few wickets, the chase was wrapped up comfortably by Shahid Ul Razzaq (14*) and Muhammad Iqbal (16*), ensuring a six-wicket win for National Guards.
Muhammad Asif Iqbal Siraj was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for just 11 runs and good day at field with 1 catch & 1 run out.
