HH Shaikh Nasser Unveils Kingdom’s Longest Cycling Track

Bahrain has marked a significant milestone in its sporting evolution with the inauguration of the Kingdom’s longest cycling track, a 50-kilometer marvel in the Southern Governorate. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), officially opened the Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Track, set to elevate Bahrain’s commitment to cycling, fitness, and outdoor activities.

HH Shaikh Nasser expressed pride in the project, calling it a pivotal step in realizing His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision for a healthier Bahrain. He highlighted the track’s role in encouraging an active lifestyle, noting, “This track is more than a route for cyclists; it’s a pathway to a healthier, more vibrant Bahrain.” His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was also praised for his leadership in prioritizing sports and wellness in the Kingdom.

The inauguration event was marked by HH Shaikh Nasser leading a spirited ride alongside professional cyclists from Bahrain’s national federations. Participants enjoyed the smooth, car-free path, while a commemorative monument at the track’s opening celebrated the achievement.
