Bahrain’s women’s futsal team ended their qualifying campaign for the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025 on a high note, beating Palestine 3-1. The match, which took place yesterday at the Yunusobod Sports Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, saw Bahrain dominate from the first whistle.

A Scrappy Start, but a Dream Finish

The game got off to a shaky start for Bahrain as Palestine took the lead, but Manar Yaqoob capitalized on a defensive blunder from Palestine to level the score. It wasn’t the cleanest of finishes, but it was one that set the tone for the remainder of the match. Bahrain quickly showed their ability to pounce on errors and put their opponents under pressure.

But it was Hessa Isa who stole the limelight just minutes after the opening goal. From a pinpoint cross, Isa made a perfectly timed run and struck a volley into the far corner. The finish was a thing of beauty and technique, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. It gave Bahrain a deserved 2-1 lead, putting the game almost beyond Palestine’s reach.

Isa’s Brace

The second half was more of the same from Bahrain, who controlled the game with attacking intent. Isa wasn’t done yet. After a few near misses, she found herself in the perfect spot to tap in a third goal and secure a brace. The simple finish capped off a standout individual performance.

Bahrain’s Rising Confidence

This comfortable win  for Bahrain was a statement. The team has shown massive growth throughout the qualifiers, and their chemistry and flair were on full display yesterday. With the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025 now within reach, Bahrain will head into the final with renewed belief and excitement about their potential to compete with the continent’s best.
