The Royal Golf Club in Riffa is ready to host one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year as the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship tees off tomorrow.

Part of the prestigious DP World Tour, the tournament features a glittering roster of global stars.

Yet, the spotlight will also fall on Bahraini golfers Yaseen Le Falher and Ali Al Kowari, who are seizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete against the sport’s elite on home soil.

Le Falher: A Journey Comes Full Circle

Yaseen Le Falher’s journey to the championship is a testament to perseverance. As the highest-ranked Bahraini at the Bahrain Amateur Open, the 24-year-old earned his place in the tournament and now faces a field that includes some of golf’s biggest names.

“Playing in the Bahrain Championship feels like a dream come true,” Le Falher said. “Competing here against world-class players is a moment I’ll cherish forever. I’m excited to represent Bahrain and inspire future generations of golfers in the Kingdom.”

Al Kowari: hard work pays off Joining him is Ali Al Kowari, who secured his spot with a determined performance at the King Hamad Trophy. The Bahraini golfer is embracing the challenge of competing on such a grand stage.

“This opportunity means the world to me,” Al Kowari said. “It wasn’t easy getting here, but I’ve been preparing tirelessly. Representing Bahrain at this level is an honour, and I can’t wait to test myself against some of the world’s best players.”

A Platform for Growth

The championship is an opportunity to elevate Bahrain’s standing in the golfing world. Daji Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Golf Association, emphasized the significance of the event for local athletes.

“This tournament provides our players with invaluable experience and exposure,” Khalifa said. “Competing alongside top professionals will help them grow and take their game to the next level. It’s a proud moment for Bahraini golf.”
