HRH Prince Salman Attends Crown Prince’s Cup Festival at REHC

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended the final day of the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival, sponsored by Cebarco, at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.

HRH Prince Salman highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to the continuous development of its equestrian sector through strategic plans, projects, and initiatives. He emphasized that these efforts align with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aimed at enhancing the sector’s competitiveness and sustainability.

His Royal Highness underscored the significance of Bahrain’s hosting of local and international horse racing events, acknowledging the expertise of Team Bahrain in elevating the Kingdom’s global standing in equestrian sports. He further stressed the importance of preserving the country’s rich heritage in horse racing for future generations, upholding the traditions of Bahrain’s forefathers.

HRH Prince Salman expressed appreciation for the dedication of Bahrainis in achieving podium success on regional and international stages. He also commended the pivotal role of the REHC under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in advancing Bahrain’s equestrian sector.

The Crown Prince extended his best wishes to the REHC in its efforts to strengthen horse racing and establish Bahrain as a leading hub for equestrian sports. He also lauded the success of the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival, which witnessed intense competition, and expressed gratitude to Team Bahrain for organizing the prestigious event.

Presentation of Awards

HRH Prince Salman presented the Crown Prince's Cup for imported horses to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Bahrain Derby Cup to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Additionally, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister delegated HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to present the Crown Prince's Cup for locally produced horses to HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was delegated to present the Crown Prince’s Cup for Arabian horses to the winning trainer, Abdulla Kuwaiti.

Other notable presentations included the Howden Cup, received by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa from Howden CEO David Howden, and the REHC Cup, presented by Adnan Abdulwahab Ishaq to Wafi Majeed. Additionally, Shaikh Misha’al bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa presented the Bahrain Turf Club Cup to Abdulla Fawzi Nass, and Maha Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), awarded the Bahrain Jockey Academy Cup to jockey Tom Marquand.

The event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa. Other dignitaries included HE Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, alongside senior officials and horse racing enthusiasts from around the world.
