Wales, Wagstaff win in Monday Madness Golf week four

David Wales and playing partner Stephen Wagstaff (24 points) enjoyed a comfortable win in week four of the six-week-long Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club.

Ronan Smith and Sebastian Woodrow (22) took second place, while the duo of Colin Sattar and Paul Close (21) came in a close third with nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 won by Sun Kyu Kwak and Rob Lane respectively.

Nearly 30 golfers took part in the Rainbow Challenge tournament despite the cool weather.

With only two weeks of the series to go, competitors still have everything to play for with just two points separating the top four teams. 

Currently the duo of Abdulaziz Ahmed and Sam Jong Kim (7 points) top the series leader board, while Ali Al Kowari and Yusuf Janahi hold second place with the same number of points.

The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the Royal Golf Club’s Tournament Coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes on behalf of Porsche Centre Bahrain.

The nine-hole competition also open to non-members that takes place every Monday evening and is a  and tees off with a 6.30pm shotgun start.

1 David Wales/Stephen Wagstaff (24 points), 2 Ronan Smith/Sebastian Woodrow (22), 3 Collin Sattar/Paul Close (21), 4 Iftikhar Butt (21), 5 Rajinder Sachdeva/Naeem Khan (20). 

Nearest the Pins: Sun Kyu Kwak (hole 12) and Rob Lane (hole 16).
