RJ Juniors tennis final set for today

Bahrain’s second seeded Hamad Abdul A’al takes on unseeded Indian Rahul Jaideep today in the final of the Boys 18 years-and-under singles at 5pm on the concluding day of the RJ Investment Holding Juniors Open Tennis Championship organised by the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) at its premises in Juffair.

Hamad began his campaign with a first round walkover win over Hazim Al Sawad, followed by a 6-0, 6-1 win against Rico Cifra in the quarterfinals, and then another walkover win against Yousif Dhaif in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Rahul progressed thanks to a walkover win against Nihal Mohammed in round one, then a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Elyas A Redah in the quarterfinals and followed up with a 6-0, 6-1 semifinal victory over Yousef Ashraf.

Following the final, a prize presentation will be held, and all category winners will receive a free subscription at the health club of Al Areen Palace and Spa and free entry tickets to the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park along with many other prizes.

Meanwhile, to celebrate National Day, club members will take part in a 3km walk at Dohat Arad Conservation Park  on Friday, with a bus leaving the club at 7am to take members to the venue, which will then be followed by breakfast.

In the afternoon, a members’ doubles tournament will be conducted from 4pm, followed by dinner later on.
