Prestigious equestrian event kicks off

Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) is hosting the Nasser bin Hamad International Showjumping Championship (Two-Star Category) from today until Saturday.
The event will take place at Al Raffa Arena within the Military Sports Association and is expected to feature strong competition and wide participation.
The championship officially kicks off today, with all preparations finalized by the organizing committee. A veterinary inspection for participating horses was conducted under the supervision of Championship Director Abdulaziz Muyawaf Al-Rumaihi and the organizing committee.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Head of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Showjumping Committee, welcomed the participating riders and expressed confidence in the championship’s success.
The competition schedule includes three events on the opening day, with obstacle heights ranging from 115 cm to 130 cm. Additional events will take place on February 14 and 15, culminating in the grand finale on Saturday, featuring the main event with 145 cm obstacles, which will award Longines global ranking points.
