Bahrain Tennis Federation Launches First Women's Ramadan Tournament

The Bahrain Tennis Federation's Women's Committee has announced the launch of the inaugural Women’s Ramadan Doubles Tournament, set to take place every Friday and Saturday in March 2025 at the federation’s courts in Isa Town, within the Bahrain Polytechnic campus.

Tournament Details & Registration

Jamila Al-Nashaba, board member and head of the Women's Committee, confirmed that matches will be held at 9:30 PM on weekends, with the first competition kicking off on March 7. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second-place teams. Registration is open via the federation’s Instagram bio (@btf_tennis), with a deadline of March 4, 2025.

Encouraging Women's Sports Participation

Al-Nashaba expressed gratitude to MP Eman Shuwaiter for her support in promoting women's participation in sports, particularly tennis, during Ramadan. She also thanked federation president Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and the board for their continuous support.

A Fully Women-Led Event

The tournament will be managed entirely by women, including officiating and volunteer roles, to nurture future leaders in sports event management.
