Calum Campbell secured victory in the Watson Salver at Awali Golf Club, edging out Graham Geddes and Wendy Doherty on countback after all three players finished with a score of +3.

Campbell’s superior performance on the back nine ultimately earned him the prestigious title.

The Watson Salver is a bogey competition in which players compete against the course in a match-play format, with scores adjusted according to individual handicaps. A net par keeps a player level, while a net birdie or better earns a win. Conversely, a poor hole results in just a single loss, allowing players to pick up their ball and move on. The objective is to accumulate more pluses than minuses by the end of the round.

With Campbell, Geddes, and Doherty all tied at +3, the countback system was used to determine the winner. Campbell’s stronger back-nine score secured his place among the tournament’s distinguished past champions.

Attention now turns to next week’s competitions at Awali Golf Club, with the first round of the Russell Cup and Memorial Trophy set to take place, followed by the second round the following week.
