Emma Raducanu is back in form, and she’s feeling it. The 22-year-old Brit is making waves at the Miami Open, stringing together four consecutive WTA main draw victories for the first time since her stunning 2021 U.S. Open win.
It hasn’t been an easy road for Raducanu, who has battled injuries, inconsistent performances, and a revolving door of coaches. Just last week, Vladimir Platenik became the latest to part ways with her after only 14 days. But in Miami, she has found her spark again.
Following a dominant 6-1, 6-3 victory over Amanda Anisimova, Raducanu spoke about what this run means to her. “The biggest thing I’m proud of is finding the competitive spirit and being there for every ball,” she said. “I think that’s been missing in the last few months and even the last few years at times.”
Now working with coach Mark Petchey, Raducanu seems to have settled into a comfortable rhythm, both on and off the court. She faces a tough challenge next against fourth seed Jessica Pegula, but for Raducanu, this week has already been a victory. “I’m just really happy with how things are right now,” she said. “On and off the court.”
