Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) broke their 17-year winless streak at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium with a commanding 50-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League.
After being sent in to bat, RCB posted 196/6 powered by Rajat Patidar’s crucial 50 and Phil Salt’s explosive 32 off 16 balls. Virat Kohli labored to 31 off 30 before Tim David’s unbeaten 8-ball 22 cameo boosted the total. CSK’s bowlers struggled despite Noor Ahmad’s 3-wicket haul and Matheesha Pathirana taking 2 on return.
The chase never gained momentum as CSK collapsed to 146 all out in 18.4 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s team suffered their worst batting performance this season, with only three batters crossing 20. RCB’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure, sharing wickets evenly.
