The Detroit Pistons are finally back on top! On March 28, they defeated the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers 133-122, clinching their first winning season in nine years. With this victory, Detroit improves to 42-32—its first winning record since the 2015-16 season.

Tim Hardaway Jr. was on fire, finishing with a season-high 32 points and leading the charge for the Pistons. This win also snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Cavaliers, dating back to February 2022. The last time Detroit celebrated a win over Cleveland felt like ages ago.

Malik Beasley added 19 points, while Ausar Thompson had a standout performance with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Dennis Schroder also played a crucial role, posting 17 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds. Despite All-Star Cade Cunningham sitting out his third straight game due to a calf injury, the Pistons pulled together as a team to deliver this much-needed victory.

Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell tried to carry his team with a massive 38-point game, and Darius Garland added 21, but it wasn’t enough to stop Detroit's momentum.
