Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up the Ligue 1 title in familiar fashion on Saturday night, defeating Angers 1-0 to secure their fourth consecutive domestic crown—and their 13th overall—with six matches still to play.
The win, delivered by 19-year-old Desire Doue’s tidy finish early in the second half, confirmed what had long seemed inevitable. Luis Enrique’s side are now 24 points clear of second-placed Monaco, who can no longer mathematically catch them even with a perfect run-in.
For PSG, it marks another chapter in their domestic dominance, and for Enrique, it’s vindication—having taken over at the start of the 2023-24 campaign, the Spaniard has now guided the club to back-to-back titles, all while transitioning away from the star-studded era led by Kylian Mbappe, who departed for Real Madrid last summer.
"It’s crazy, I’m really happy," captain Marquinhos told beIN Sports after the final whistle. "Staying with a top team for so long is a real challenge. The titles will go down in history."
The Brazilian defender, who joined the club in 2013, has now won a record 10 Ligue 1 titles—more than any player in French top-flight history.
Saturday’s match saw PSG dominate possession and chances in a one-sided first half, though they were unable to find the net before the break. Goncalo Ramos was particularly active, with multiple shots on goal, but Angers held firm.
The breakthrough came 10 minutes after the restart, when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia floated a cross into the area and Doue volleyed home at the far post. It was his fifth league goal of the season—and arguably his most significant.
With one eye on their upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa, Enrique made wholesale changes, bringing on top scorer Ousmane Dembele and others to preserve energy. But the result was already enough for celebration.
As chants of "We are the champions" rang out across the Parc des Princes, Enrique was hoisted into the air by his players—moments after sharing an embrace with PSG sporting director Luis Campos, the architect of the club’s latest rebuild.
And with the league title wrapped up early, all focus now turns to Europe, where PSG’s pursuit of a first Champions League crown continues. But for now, in France at least, they remain untouchable.
