The Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) fire and rescue team has declared itself fully prepared to ensure safety at the upcoming Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, set for 11-13 April at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). Team head Abdulla Qutami confirmed their readiness in a statement on Sunday, highlighting the extensive preparations ahead of the fourth race of the 2025 F1 season.

Qutami expressed gratitude to the BMF, led by Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the BIC, under Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, for their support. “Their backing has been crucial in getting us to this point,” he said. “We’ve worked closely with both organisations to ensure we’re equipped for any scenario.”

The team, comprising 70 highly trained personnel, has been planning for three months, using the recent pre-season testing at BIC as a key evaluation. “It was a chance to test our response times and refine our strategies,” Qutami explained. “We’ve checked every piece of equipment— fire suppression systems, medical kits, everything—to make sure we’re ready for the night race and all associated events.”

With hot, dry weather forecast, the team is drawing on experience from previous years to manage potential challenges.

Qutami emphasised the team’s national expertise and readiness to handle incidents during both the race and side events. “Our personnel are experienced and committed to representing Bahrain on this global stage,” he said, expressing confidence in their ability to protect drivers, crews, and spectators.
