Bahrain starts strong at Gulf Beach Games

Bahrain opened its campaign at the 3rd Gulf Beach Games in Muscat with a commanding display in athletics, taking gold and bronze in the women’s 60m sprint.
Laily Kamal clocked a winning time of 7.77 seconds to top the podium, while Zainab Mohammed se-cured bronze in 7.93 seconds, ensuring Bahrain’s first medals of the competition came in style.
Bahrain’s medal tally continued to rise yesterday, as swimmers Ahmed Abdullnabi and Ahmed Suhail claimed bronze in the 10-kilometre open water team event.
The duo’s gritty performance in the endurance test added to a strong start for Team Bahrain.

Elsewhere, the men’s beach volleyball second team—Ali Marhoon and Hassan Nasser— also im-pressed, brushing aside Oman 4 in straight sets (21-9, 21-9) to reach the quarter-finals. The match was witnessed by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman, Dr Juma’a bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, who was present to cheer on the squad. Earlier, the team swept past Oman 4 in straight sets (21- 9, 21-9) to book their place in the quarter-finals.
With the competition heating up, Team Bahrain heads into the next round of events with confidence and growing momentum.
