Feel the pulse as Bahrain’s desert comes alive for F1 Grand Prix action starting today

The roar of engines returns to the desert as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 officially gets underway today at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir, marking the fourth round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship.

Running from today to Sunday, April 13, the much-anticipated event promises fans a weekend of high-speed action, family-friendly entertainment, and world-class music performances, all under the campaign theme “The Desert Pulse Never Stops.”

This year’s Grand Prix is particularly significant as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 and the 21st anniversary of F1 racing in Bahrain.

BIC will open its doors daily from 9am to 11pm, granting visitors full access to the vibrant Formula 1 Village — a lively hub filled with dining options, music, interactive activities, and entertainment tailored for all ages.

Pit lane walks

Early ticket holders were treated to exclusive pit lane walks yesterday, offering a behind-the-scenes look at F1 teams making final preparations for race weekend. Track activity officially begins today with the first and second Formula 1 free practice sessions scheduled for 2:30pm and 6pm, respectively, each lasti n g 6 0 minutes.

The day’s racing program also features support races from Formula 2, Formula 3, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East, delivering non-stop thrills on the track.

Live interviews

Fans will have the opportunity to hear directly from the stars of the sport during a series of live interviews held on the main stage in the F1 Village. These sessions, which replace traditional autograph signings, feature appearance s from popular drivers and key team figures.

Scheduled to appear today are Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar, Williams’ Alexander Albon, Carlos Sainz, McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, Kick Sauber’s Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer, Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff, and Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich.

As the sun sets, the excitement continues off-track with a trio of high-energy concerts headlining each night of the weekend. Tonight features EDM superstar R3HAB, followed by globally acclaimed DJ Peggy Gou tomorrow, and Grammy-nominated Axwell closing out the weekend on Sunday.

All concerts are held on the main stage behind the grandstand and are free to all ticket holders.
