Bahrain to Host 3rd International AI in Sports Conference Under HH Shaikh Khalid’s Patronage
Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Bahrain is set to host the third edition of the Bahrain International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Sports.
Organised by the GSA in collaboration with the HH Shaikh Nasser Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Centre (NAIRDC), the International Group of Artificial Intelligence (IGOAI), and with participation from the “I’m Talented” programme, the conference reflects Bahrain’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge AI technologies within the sports sector.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad underscored the significance of continuing the conference, stating that it highlights the expanding role of AI in shaping the future of sports. “The world is undergoing major transformations, and artificial intelligence will be a key driver,” he said, adding that sports is now one of the most dynamic fields influenced by this modern innovation.
His Highness also affirmed the GSA’s dedication to collaborating with local AI-focused institutions, opening new pathways for the Bahraini sports community to stay aligned with international advancements. The aim is to leverage AI for administrative, technical, and organisational growth within the sports ecosystem. He commended the strong partnerships established over the years with NAIRDC and IGOAI.
Set to take place virtually on April 24, the conference will bring together global experts in the field of AI in sports. The first two editions attracted over 320 participants from more than 21 countries, a testament to Bahrain’s growing influence in the intersection of technology and athletics.
