BOC secretary-general vows to support U-23 football team
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar vowed to support all national sports teams, especially football, in an attempt to accomplish various achievements for the kingdom of Bahrain.
At his meeting with Bahrain’s under-23 football team Shaikh Khalid bin Salman Al Khalifa, Askar extended the committee’s commitment to offer all that would help in creating a solid foundation of young athletes in the country.
Askar also commended the role of Shaikh Khalid and his ongoing efforts in backing and patronizing the under-23 team, which is the future of the game for Bahrain football.
He lauded the team’s most recent achievement by coming second in the GCC Championship, in addition to winning first place and the gold medal at the Second GCC Olympics in Riyadh last year.
Askar added that these positive results give added confidence for the team in their upcoming tasks, the most important of which is the U-23 Asian Cup that Bahrain will host this year in October.
On his part, Shaikh Khalid thanked the committee, headed by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for its continued support to all football teams which resulted in the past achievements.
