Talal triumphs twice in karting
Talal Beshara secured a fine double competing in the BRMMC’s Junior Max class after winning both his races in the third round of the 2015/2016 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC), held at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
Other winners on the day were Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa in race two of the BRMMC’s Max category; while Abdulla Buhindi and Ahmed Ebrahim shared the honours with a win apiece in round five of the 2015/2016 Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS).
In the BRMMC, Talal overcame an intense head-to-head battle with Zaid Audih winning race one and completing the 11-lap sprint in 10 minutes 56.239 seconds, Zaid (+1.969 secs) had to settle for the runner-up spot and in the second race Talal (+3.798) won by a bigger margin.
Meanwhile, in the Max class, Shaikh Mohammed cruised to a fine win in race two and was virtually unchallenged in the event, as chief rival Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa did not start the race.
In the first sprint, both Shaikh Mohammed and Shaikh Isa didn’t complete the distance. Shaikh Mohammed bowed out after seven laps, while Shaikh Isa retired after three.
In the SSWS, Abdulla Buhindi outperformed a grid of 15 other competitors with a single lap lead from runner-up Khaled Alsaie, while third place went to Ali Baslar (+0.337s back, while fourth to eight places went to Mohammed Mattar, Ahmed Ebrahim, Sami Favre, Bader Almubarak and Louay Malas respectively.
In the follow-up sprint, Ebrahim (13:27.366) lifted the winner’s trophy, Favre (+4.201) was second and Almubarak (+4.327) came in third.
Fourth to eighth places went to Mattar, Baslar, Alsaie, Yousif Khamiri and Abdulla Buhindi.
After action in both championships, the winners were presented their respective trophies in a podium ceremony.
The BKSC resumes with round four in the BRMMC and round six in the SSWS on April 8.
