Tyres set to burn the asphalt

Manama : Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) welcomed a huge field of 124 participants during each of the two nights of Test and Tune, held Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the fourth and penultimate round of the 2015/2016 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship.

The competitors included 104 cars and 20 motorbikes, with the drivers/riders coming from Bahrain and across the Gulf, as well as a handful from the United States.

BIC’s world-class quarter-mile drag strip, which is a member of the National Hot Rod Association Worldwide Network, will host all the racing.

Action continued yesterday with Qualifying round.  Race begins todays at 4pm. There will be 14 competition categories in all, 10 for cars and four for motorbikes.

Among entrants in the most competitive of classes is the Pro Mod, which has eight cars entered the most so far this season and include defending champion Khaled Mohammed of E Kanoo Racing Team, Khaled Al Balooshi from the UAE and Bader Korshaid from Kuwait.

The meeting has been organised by BDRC, in cooperation with BIC and the Bahrain Motor Federation.

Taking place on the sidelines is the popular Dragster Xperience one of the circuit’s most sought-after public activities. Clients get into one of BIC’s three-seater Top Dragsters for a run down the quarter-mile strip in mind-boggling speed, powering from zero to 100kph in just one second and can be done anytime during the meeting.
