Exciting contests at BTC Men’s Doubles

Manama : Farouk Soliman and Jawed Akthar had to play hard to defeat Mohammed Yousif and Abdul Majeed Mufees 6-4, 7-6 in their first match of Group 2 in the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) Men’s Doubles Tournament at its premises in Juffair.

In another Group 2 match, Naji Al Smahiji and Ahmed Omran were easy 6-0, 6-0 winners over Ahmed Jassas and Hussein Ali Abdul Latif. 

Group 1 action saw Ahmed Kayed and Khalid Janahi beat Matar Yousif and Hussain Al Mukharraq 7-5, 6-2 and Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Ahmed Al Mahmood receive a walkover win against Rohit Madan and Rami Mohammed Tahboub.

In Group 3 action, there was a 6-0, 6-0 win for Mohammed Kamal Khonji and Isa Al Sammak against Faisal Sharaf and Mohammed Sharaf. Also, Thahir Shah and Emmanuel Nabil Bishay got the better of Ammar Saeed and Mohammed Ahmed 6-4, 6-1.

The players are playing round-robin in both categories with the semi-finals set for March 12 and the finals on March 13.
