‘Battle of the Heroes to inspire fitness culture’
Manama : President of Bahrain Weight-lifting and Bodybuilding Federation (BWBF) and President of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (ABBF), Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, stated the Battle of the Heroes fitness championship will encourage citizens and residents to practice fitness sports and compete for attractive cash prizes.
He added it would also grant health clubs and nutritionists an opportunity to present fitness programmes and meals to players and participants, contributing to the sports culture of the Kingdom.
Shaikh Abdulla appreciated the support and patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, to the championship.
The event will be held at Bahrain City Centre on April 8 and 9 with Bahrain Olympic Committee as a strategic partner.
The Championship offers $26,500 in cash prizes, besides many programmes and activities for all age groups.
It is being held under the directorship of Shaikh Abdulla. It will be organised for the first time in the Kingdom and the third time in the Middle East and is expected to see the participation of many local, GCC and international athletes.
