Third School Mini Olympics from Apr 21
Manama : Preparations are underway for the Third School Mini Olympics, which is due to take place from April 21 until May 5. The two-week event, to be held for the third successive year, will be organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
Over 1,990 students from different private schools will take part in it.
BOC General Secretary Abdulrahman Askar said the Mini Olympics is one of the important programmes that the committee intends to have every year.
“Bahrain Olympic Committee seeks to develop the third edition of the Mini Olympics by bringing many students from government and private schools,” he said.
“This year we managed to get a record breaking 1,992 participants, which reflects the tremendous success of the previous two editions,” he added. Askar stressed the event aims to promote public health and create a competitive sports environment among students.
