The Godfathers Tournament hailed as a grand success

The 2019 edition of The Godfathers Tournament was amongst the most successful ever in the history of the annual Ramadan competition, played at Funland Centre’s bowling lanes . A massive number of 1,239 trials were attempted over 29 days of qualifying, with a total of 89 players from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and the USA battling it out in three highly competitive groups. The field included many bowlers from Bahrain’s national teams, including 31 of the country’s top youth talents.

There were also a handful of women’s bowlers from Saudi Arabia – a first for the competition and a welcome addition to the women’s game. “We are very pleased with the success of The Godfathers Tournament this year,” commented Funland General Manager Adel Rasti. “We had a great number of players, both men and women, along with a high number of youth who are the future of the game in Bahrain.

“We would like to thank all those who participated and contributed to the success and smooth running of the tournament, especially Funland Owner and Managing Director Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa for his total support and guidance.
