Shaikh Khalid welcomes Bahrain heroes

After a heroic run at the IMMAF European Open Championships, with 6 golds and 11 total medals, the Bahrain National MMA Team, currently ranked #1 in the world, was welcomed back home by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The meeting happened at KHK MMA, the training ground and talent facility for the Bahraini team.

During the encounter, the Bahrain National Team, led by head coach and BRAVE CF World Champion Eldar Eldarov, was also greeted by Mohammed Shahid, Private Secretary of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Advisor to President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, CEO of KHK Sports, and President of BRAVE Combat Federation.

“This achievement by the Bahrain National Team cemented the position of our country as the #1 nation in the world for Mixed Martial Arts”, Shahid said. “It’s an unprecedented evolution happening before our very eyes. From a place in which Mixed Martial Arts didn’t exist half a decade ago to a force to be reckoned worldwide, the path was paved by HH Shaikh Khalid’s vision and the tireless work of the brave people involved in this quest”.

With the status of favourite, Bahrain now gets ready to the biggest challenge of the year, the IMMAF World Championships 2019, to be, once again, hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain, during the already traditional BRAVE International Combat Week. The goal is to top last 2018’s performance when the local team locked 10 medals in total.
