Sprite Cricket Stars launches its first Bahrain edition

After the huge success seen in UAE and Qatar, Sprite Cricket Stars makes its first foray into the Bahrain sports scene in partnership with Bahrain Cricket League (BCL), to give cricket lovers a chance to celebrate their passion for the game and realize their true potential on the field.    

Keeping true to the inclusive nature of Sprite Cricket Stars, the 2015 tournament will aim to break down barriers and bring all cricket crazy nations such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and others with over 10 camp teams and 18 open teams.  The legendary Rawalpindi Express and Sprite Cricket Stars ambassador, Shoaib Akhtar will also visit Bahrain to be part of the tournament on September 11.

Shoaib said, “I have had a wonderful time with the Sprite Cricket Stars campaign in UAE and Qatar and I am looking forward to meet my fans in Bahrain. These are the people who have made me a star and now I would love to watch them play the game and become a star.”

Mohamed Akeel, MD of Coca-Cola Bottling Co of Bahrain said: “Bahrain has a significantly large Asian community who love Cricket and Sprite is delighted to give them an opportunity to live their passion both on the field and even off the field through our exciting promotion. Whenever consumers drink Sprite they have the chances to win prizes such as TVs, Mobiles and Sprite Cricket Kits till Oct 15th 2015.” 

The winning Sprite Cricket Stars team will receive USD1,500 in prize money, with the runners-up take away USD1000. Feel free to join the celebrations at Busateen Cricket Grounds on Sep 11 and possibly catch a glimpse of Shoaib Akhtar as well. Moreover, even if you are unable to participate in the tournament on Sep 11, Sprite Cricket Stars in partnership with BCL will give you many opportunities to show your love for the game throughout the cricket season in Bahrain till April 2016.
